Mike Bishop was appointed as the Frome Town Crier in April 2006, after a five year gap since his predecessor passed away.
Mike's wife Angie has been a constant partner with him and goes to all competitions as a dressed Escort in her Victorian regalia, both bringing back several trophies for their troubles.
Mike does numerous competitions through each year proclaiming our wonderful town, and is a tremendous ambassador for Frome.
Mike also loves doing talks on Town Crying, as he has done a lot of research into the history of the job, and loves enlightening others into the history too.
Mike is a member of the Ancient and Honourable Guild of Town Criers where he has recently been appointed as the official Standard Bearer and he is also the sub-editor of their tri-annual magazine, Crier.
If any club, organisation or individual would like to book the services of Mike as a Town Crier, please feel free to contact him via phone 07970 000773, stop him and chat to him in his taxi or e-mail him on mbishop@mjbcabs.orangehome.co.uk.
