Frome Town Council is proud to own and manage several open spaces in the town, to give enjoyment and pleasure to all ages. Some of these are available for hire for various events and functions. For non-profit organisations, these sites are available free of charge for most events for example school events, charity fetes etc.

To hire an open space, an application and risk assessment form need to be completed and submitted to the Town Council office. Please note that completion of an application form does not guarantee availability of your chosen date. Please see forms below:

When an event is taking place on Council owned land, you will be asked to provide evidence of your insurance cover, before the event can take place. Policy cover must be for a minimum indemnity sum of £3 million per claim.

A minimum of two weeks notice is required for small events. Three months is required for all large events.

Council owned spaces include Victoria Park, Mary Baily Playing Field, Murrhardt Gardens, and the Riverside Corridor comprising Rodden Meadow, Château-Gontier Walk, Weylands and Welshmill. Please click on the links on the left hand side for more information.

Frome Town Council also maintain a number of floral displays around the town and are very much involved with Frome, Mendip and Britain in Bloom.

The Bunn Pillars, commissioned by Thomas Bunn, are two surviving members of four that were designed to mark the entrance to a Grecian crescent above Christchurch Street West. It never came to fruition. Bunn was a solicitor who rarely practiced, loved Greek and Roman art and wanted Frome to surpass Bath in its architecture.
